Pune gives us the right ecosystem, talent access and infrastructure to serve high-growth, technology-driven markets reinforcing our global manufacturing network.” - David Dorney, CEO - FläktGroup
June 2026 : Keeping the world's digital infrastructure cool requires an immense amount of engineering precision, especially as data centers sprout across the globe at record speeds. Stepping up to meet this massive demand, air technology pioneer FläktGroup has recently announced a major manufacturing expansion in India under the moniker “Project GAGAN.” The global leader is investing €5.7 million to construct a state-of-the-art production facility in Pune, Maharashtra, transforming the region into a world-class HVAC manufacturing hub.
Stepping onto the newly planned 13,826 square meter shop floor reveals the sheer scale of the company's ambitions. With over 12,000 square meters strictly dedicated to production, the plant is engineered to churn out up to 6,500 units annually once fully operational in June 2026. The facility will focus on producing specialized critical cooling hardware - including Air Handling Units, Fan Wall Units, and advanced Coolant Distribution Units - essential for keeping hyperscaler data centers running efficiently. This heavy-duty supply will feed both domestic demands and export channels across Asia and South-East Asia.
Emphasizing the long-term vision behind the expansion, David Dorney, CEO, FläktGroup, said, “Project GAGAN is more than a factory investment - it is a strategic capability build that positions FläktGroup for the next phase of growth in India and beyond. Pune gives us the right ecosystem, talent access and infrastructure to serve high-growth, technology-driven markets reinforcing our global manufacturing network.”
What makes this expansion truly human, however, is the brand's emphasis on culture replication. Instead of just setting up assembly lines, FläktGroup has initiated immersive training programs that send local teams to global headquarters to master standard operating procedures. By strategically nesting itself in Pune's booming green energy ecosystem, the company is ensuring that its localized, eco-efficient solutions can reach customers faster while maintaining a heavily minimized carbon footprint.
