At the Vadodara Edition of the Pro MFG Next Wave Leadership Conclave, some of the brightest minds in the industry gathered together and deliberated on the all-important topic of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’.

The keynote panel discussion at the Vadodara Edition of the Pro MFG Next Wave Leadership Conclave conducted in October 2022 included Sanjiv Prasad, Vice President / Head Power & Utilities, Reliance Industries, Raghavendra Naik, Global Head - Manufacturing Excellence, PGP Glass Ltd. And Rishikesh Jaiwant, Member of the Board of Directors, Baxter Pharmaceuticals India. The discussion was moderated by Niranjan Mudholkar, Editorial Director, Pro MFG Media.

Sharing his views on how India could achieve global dominance in manufacturing, Sanjiv Prasad, Vice President / Head Power & Utilities, Reliance Industries, said that the ‘Make in India’ movement started by PM Modi is the first step towards this goal with ‘Sell to the World’ being the second step. “If India has to become a global manufacturing power-house then we need to have the ambition to become one,” he said.

Agreeing with Mr. Prasad, Raghavendra Naik, Global Head - Manufacturing Excellence, PGP Glass Ltd., reminded the audience that before the advent of the East India Company, India used to be the epicentre of global business. Speaking about the country’s quest to regain its glorious days, Mr. Naik said: “Indian manufacturing organizations need to focus on innovation, cost competitiveness and delivery commitments if they intend to dominate the global manufacturing arena.”

Rishikesh Jaiwant, Member of the Board of Directors, Baxter Pharmaceuticals India shared the two Cs and two Ss for achieving the said goal. “The two Cs are courage and collaboration while the two Ss are simplification and speed. C comes before S. So, if we have courage and collaboration then simplification and speed will follow,” he said.
